Harvest Supper

Family Harvest Supper –  Friday 4th October 2019

The village hall was full to capacity and guests were treated to a delicious buffet followed by Polly’s legendary apple pie.

Each table had fun with ‘pass the parcel’ which contained a forfeit in each layer. The children thought it hilarious to see the adults playing air guitar on the stage!

Thank you to everyone who came along, the children who contributed a decorated fruit or vegetable, and especially to those who worked so hard to make it happen. A successful evening of fun which together with the raffle raised over £460 for the upkeep of the village hall.

2015 Event

The Harvest Supper on Friday October 9th 2015 was sold out, a delicious supper was followed by a very special brand of entertainment by Harmony Plus.
Milton’s own inimitable live scarecrow was an impressive sight, and presented the children with a small gift for the pictures and scarecrows they had made – well done to all the children for their amazing creations and to our scarecrow for her magnificent costume.
After a supper of ham with jacket potatoes with all the trimmings, followed by a dessert of Polly’s famous apple pies, Harmony Plus were welcomed onto the stage. Excellent music and singing was interspersed with some comic pieces, their rendition of ‘lets do it’ will be remembered for a long time by all present. The mix of contemporary music with the more theatrical ‘risqué’ pieces were all skillfully performed, with the music being appreciated and the comedy giving rise to a great deal of laughter.

On Friday October 10th 2014 the Village Hall hosted the 2014 Harvest Supper.

The room looked lovely and the stage was dressed with local produce and a lady scarecrow dressed as a gardener.
Guests were invited to guess her name and although suggestions ranging from Charlie Dimmock to Lady Chatterley were put forward, no-one put forward the correct name which was Edna.

The Hall was full with everyone enjoying an excellent supper and good company. Many thanks to the ladies who provided the catering.

On Friday Oct 4th    2013   41 guests enjoyed  a hot and cold buffet, with apple pie for desert in the Village Hall.

Guests  were asked to bring produce to help decorate the stage –  and they did, from chillies to marrows and much, much, more.  The stage looked superb  and the produce was subsequently expertly auctioned off in aid of the Foremarke church roof fund and raised £120.

£250 from the Harvest Supper go to Milton Village Hall improvements.
