Autumn 2016
Throughout the year the Milton Village Hall Committee have held fund raising events to preserve and maintain Milton Village Hall. With a building that dates back to 1890 it is a challenge, but the committee are determined to preserve the facility for the benefit of Milton and the wider local area.
Over the last few weeks timbers on the southern elevation, which date back to when the hall was originally built, have been replaced. The exterior of the Hall has been re-painted in a different shade of green, and other timbers around the exterior of the Hall have been repaired.Thank you to all who have supported our fund raising events, please do come along to future events to see what has been achieved thanks to yourefforts.
September/ October 2015 – Neighbourhood Plan
Public Consultation about the future of Milton & Repton
A Neighbourhood Development Plan is being formulated and in order to have legal status it needs the involvement of as many people as possible – there is no minimum age, everyones’ opinion counts.
A questionnaire will be delivered to all houses in Milton & Repton in September. It will also be available at Repton Post Office and other strategic locations and a ‘Drop In’ event is being held in Milton Village Hall on October 15th between 7pm and 9 pm. This is an opportunity to discuss the future development of the village and also to fill in a questionnaire.
When your questionnaire arrives please fill it in – it is important and will only take a few minutes of your time.

The main Hall and stage area have been completely re-decorated and a lighting bar installed for

The last 4 years have seen huge improvements to the Hall and its facilities. It is now probably one of the best equipped in the area
and a delightful venue for small to medium size events.

Work has now started in the new kitchen extension and will take about 4 months to complete. Willington Building Services, based in a village a short distance from Milton, are undertaking the construction.
The project is being partly funded by a Community Building Grant from from Derbyshire County Council, but the village still has to raise the additional £6,000 needed to complete the work.
Milton Village Hall is the only Hall of its size in the local area and hence is a valuable community asset.
As work continues more photos and updates will be posted.
